Importance of industrial policy in the provision of economic security in the region

The subject of this research is the modern and promising directions of industrial policy in the regions. The article aims to reveal the role and impact of industrial policy in the context of economic security of territories. The methodology of the research is based on the principles of dialectical objectivity, positive and normative approaches, methods of induction and deduction, system approach, expert method, logical analysis. The results of the study: the role and necessity of industrial policy to ensure economic security of the region; the generated set of indicators of the im-pact of industrial policies on the economic security of the region; the authors sum-marize the scientific works of economists in the field of industrial policy and eco-nomic security of the region, regulations about the need for state regulation of the economy to ensure economic development and security, practical measures, priori-ties and principles for the implementation of industrial policy in Russia; the princi-ples and directions of formation of industrial policy of region, the mechanism of its implementation; identified priorities of industrial development in the regions and the optimal scenario of development of the industry; developed directions for achieving the industrial policy objectives in the context of economic security.
