Relevancia de las exportaciones para la economía mexicana

Abstract

¿Cuáles pueden ser los impactos sobre las variables más importantes de la economía mexicana de la eventual modificación de la relación comercial de México con los Estados Unidos de América (EUA) y Canadá, derivados de la renegociación del Tratado de Libre Comercio de América del Norte (TLCAN)? Este trabajo busca proporcionar elementos de respuesta mediante el cálculo de las elasticidades totales ante cambios en las exportaciones y en la demanda final exógena. Para tal efecto, se construye un modelo de producción ampliado de Leontief, basado en la Matriz de Contabilidad Social (MCS) de la economía mexicana del año 2013. Las elasticidades totales se calculan mediante el método propuesto por Richard Stone (1985). Es una investigación aplicada sobre la economía mexicana, con un procedimiento no utilizado en México con MCS y cuyo interés principal radica en abordar un tema relevante de la coyuntura económica actual.
