Capacidades de innovación por entidades federativas: un análisis de sus componentes principales

Abstract

El estudio abona a los trabajos sobre las capacidades de innovación de las diferentes entidades fede­rativas, el objetivo principal es encontrar clusters o conglomerados de entidades federativas que mues­tren similitudes en sus desempeños de capacidad innovadora; como objetivo secundario, tiene la finalidad de describir los principales indicadores que muestran esta capacidad innovadora. Con una técnica de análisis de conglomerados jerárquico se generó un dendograma en el que se identificaron ocho clusters de entidades federativas, y además se realizó una técnica de análisis de componentes principales para encontrar las variables que explican el desempeño de las capacidades. Se observan dos clusters que sobresalen, estos son el clúster conformado por una sola entidad “Ciudad de México” que sobresale en el componente “Innovación y gestión de conocimiento”, y el clúster conformado por “Jalisco y Estado de México” que destaca debido a su componente de “Científicos públicos, Internet gratuito y Secretos industriales”.
