Capacidades del capital humano para la innovación tecnológica en pequeñas empresas de Jalisco, México

Abstract

El precario desarrollo tecnológico de las pequeñas empresas en México no les permite ser más eficientes y productivas. Esta situación implica que invierten muy poco o nada en innovación tecnológica, que es un elemento esencial para la supervivencia en los agresivos mercados mundiales, cuyas preferencias cambian constantemente. Un estudio realizado en Jalisco identificó que uno de los principales inhibidores de la innovación es la falta de capacidades del capital humano. Esta investigación buscó evidencia que apoyara o descartara esta hipótesis. Los resultados muestran que poco más de la mitad de las empresas presenta diferencias de escala en su proceso de innovación tecnológica, además de rendimientos decrecientes, lo que implicaría que la capacidad de absorción de las empresas no está operando de una manera adecuada. La evidencia sugiere que el capital humano tiene el potencial para innovar.
