The Impact of Augmented Reality in Enhancing Accessibility for Visually Impaired People

Abstract

Nowadays the impact of the augmented reality (AR) in the enhancements of accessibility for visually impaired peoples is created good approach. The navigation inside the indoor and complex surroundings remains a key issue for visually impaired people, mainly in places where GPS indicators are not worthy or available. Continuous developments in AR, computer vision with association of artificial intelligence have empowered the advanced assistive navigation structures. The present study gives and inside about the ARIANNA and ARIANNA+ systems for visually impaired peoples. The initial and inventive ARIANNA structure pays physical floor-based paths united with computer vision practices, whereas the improved ARIANNA+ structure familiarizes AR-enable virtual navigation, SLAM-supported localization along with the deep learning insight. An all-inclusive study of system architecture, methodology, experimental assessment, consequences, and future prototypes is discussed. Experimental conclusions and comparative study depict that ARIANNA+ suggestively enhances the navigation accuracy, efficacy, and satisfaction which propagates it as competent scalable, infrastructure-free accessibility resolution.
