Abstract

In today’s digital era, ensuring the security of sensitive data has become a major challenge due to increasing cyber threats and unauthorized access. This paper presents a File Encryption System, a web-based application developed using Python and Flask, designed to provide secure file encryption and decryption. The system utilizes Fernet (AES-based) encryption along with PBKDF2HMAC key derivation to generate strong encryption keys from user passwords, ensuring protection against brute-force attacks. Additionally, OTP-based authentication is implemented to enhance login security and prevent unauthorized access. The application features a responsive and user-friendly interface built using modern web technologies. The proposed system ensures data confidentiality, integrity, and secure access, making it suitable for both individual and organizational use.
