Abstract

In modern educational institutions, hostel management plays a critical role in ensuring student safety, discipline, and administrative efficiency. Traditional hostel management systems are largely manual or semi-digital, leading to inefficiencies such as inaccurate attendance tracking, delayed communication, and lack of real-time monitoring. This research paper presents BiometricCloud, a full-stack, web-based blocks management system integrated with biometric attendance functionality. The system leverages modern technologies including React, Node.js, Express.js, and Microsoft SQL Server to provide a scalable, secure, and efficient solution. It introduces role-based access control, real-time attendance tracking, device management, and automated leave processing. The study discusses system architecture, design methodology, implementation, testing, and performance evaluation. The results demonstrate that the proposed system significantly improves accuracy, reduces manual effort, enhances security, and provides real-time insights for hostel administrators. Future enhancements include AI-based analytics and mobile application integration.
