Abstract

Environmental pollution, driven by industrial activities, urbanization, and the excessive use of fossil fuels, poses a significant threat to ecosystems and human health. Catalytic processes, particularly those involving metal complexes, have emerged as powerful tools for mitigating pollution by enabling efficient and sustainable chemical transformations. This research paper explores the role of catalytic processes in reducing environmental pollution, with a focus on the applications of metal complexes in air and water purification, waste treatment, and green energy production. The study evaluates the mechanisms, efficiency, and environmental benefits of these processes, supported by experimental data and case studies. Furthermore, the paper discusses emerging trends, such as the use of bio-inspired catalysts and hybrid catalytic systems, and their potential for large-scale environmental remediation.
