Abstract

“Transition metal” complexes have displayed have become highly important because their unique functions and versatile nature. They occupy a special position in inorganic and coordination chemistry. “Transition metals” are known for their ability to adopt various oxidation states and capability to coordinate with variety of ligands. As a result, they exhibit a strong tendency to readily coordinate with different types of geometries and diverse electronic properties. Because of these characteristic features, transition metal compounds have proven to be extremely useful in diverse scientific disciplines, particularly catalysis and materials science and medicinal chemistry.
