Armoede onder zelfstandige ondernemers in België. Een miskende en aparte realiteit

    Dit artikel bestudeert armoede onder zelfstandige ondernemers in België via een kwantitatieve en kwalitatieve aanpak. Uit het onderzoek blijkt dat armoede onder hen iets aparts is. Ongeveer een derde van de zelfstandigen bevindt zich onder de armoedegrens van de volledige Belgische bevolking. Het is niet mogelijk om een precies profiel te tekenen van de zelfstandige ondernemers in armoede. Er zijn verschillende oorzaken die leiden tot armoede onder zelfstandige ondernemers, waardoor armoede er een meervoudig probleem vormt. We eindigen met concrete beleidsaanbevelingen, omdat er vooralsnog geen geïnstitutionaliseerde ondersteuning voor zelfstandige ondernemers in nood bestaat.
