Coöperaties vanuit een onvolledige contracten perspectief

Abstract

Het kenmerk ledendominantie van een land- en tuinbouwcoöperatie wordt geanalyseerd vanuit een onvolledige-contracten perspectief. Ledendominantie blijkt een bedreiging voor de overleving van de coöperatieve structuur te zijn in markten waar de efficiënte investeringen worden gekarakteriseerd door een hoge mate van specificiteit van investeringen in de verwerkende fase van de produktiekolom. Een coöperatie kan echter als efficiënte organisatorische vorm overleven wanneer de toenemende mate van specificiteit van investeringen in de verwerkende fase van de produktiekolom wordt gecompenseerd door een voldoende stijging van de mate van produktdifferentiatie.
