Uma compreensão histórica dos cursos superiores de turismo no Brasil

Abstract

Resumo (JEL Z30): Os cursos superiores de turismo no Brasil iniciaram-se durante a década de 1970. Nos anos subsequentes sofreram diversas oscilações quanto à demanda, oferta e modelo de ensino. Aspectos econômicos e políticos influenciaram para a formatação de cursos superiores com viés tecnicista. Entretanto, as décadas seguintes trouxeram modificações e apelos socioculturais e ambientais, evidenciando a necessidade de pesquisas. Para tanto, buscou-se compreender a relação histórica dos cursos de turismo no Brasil desde o passado à presente atualidade relacionando-a a sua compreensão como área cientifica, bem como analisar a relação dos egressos da área com o mercado de trabalho. Utilizou-se como método a revisão de literatura e a pesquisa documental. Os dados históricos evidenciam que as instituições de ensino superior, precisam firmar-se como provedoras de pesquisa, e não somente fornecedoras de mão-de-obra.
