Observação de aves e educação ambiental: percepções de alunos de escola pública, Uberlândia/MG

Abstract

O birdwatching (observação de aves) é uma atividade ecoturística praticada por pessoas de todas as idades e pode vir a ser uma ferramenta útil para se tratar da temática ambiental. A utilização da atividade em escolas pode ser vista como um complemento à educação formal, a intenção é unir a teoria à prática levando os alunos para além dos muros da escola (e gaiolas dos pássaros). Este estudo teve como objetivo compreender o grau de consciência ambiental dos alunos do 5° ano do ensino fundamental da Escola Municipal Professor Domingos Pimentel de Ulhôa, Uberlândia/MG, a fim de propor a observação de aves como forma de instigar o pensamento crítico deles em relação às questões ambientais.
