Caracterización y percepción de los turistas que realizan consultas odontológicas en Puerto Vallarta

Abstract

El turismo es una actividad productiva muy importante para el desarrollo y economía en México por la generación de empleos principalmente. La combinación de salud, medicina y turismo da como resultado el turismo médico, actividades poco abordadas. El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer la percepción del turista que visita Puerto Vallarta y que busca realizar una consulta o algún tratamiento dental en algún hospital, clínica o consultorio dental. Con el propósito de caracterizar el perfil de los visitantes que realizan consultas odontológicas, así como de sus motivaciones y patrones de consumo en la ciudad, se diseñó un cuestionario en el que se midieron las actitudes y motivos mediante escala de Likert. Se realizó una encuesta con un tamaño de muestra de 64 turistas para la encuesta con una confianza de 90% y un error estadístico de ± 10%. Los resultados destacan a Puerto Vallarta como un destino competitivo en turismo médico ya que los hospitales, clínicas y consultorio dentales están a la vanguardia.
