El consumo de agua de turistas en hoteles comparado con el consumo de agua de residentes en hogares caso: Guanajuato, México

Abstract

El presente artículo compara el consumo de agua de residentes en sus hogares y el consumo de agua de turistas en hoteles. En el primer caso se utilizan dos metodologías distintas, una utiliza el índice de hacinamiento en hogares y la otra, la población registrada en las à reas Geoestadísticas Básicas (AGEBS de INEGI). En el caso del consumo de turistas se divide el consumo de agua del hotel entre la llegada de turistas, según lo reportado por la Encuesta de Ocupación Hotelera de Datatur. Se concluye que el turista gasta tres veces más agua que los residentes. Esta metodología puede ser replicada en otros destinos, para el diseño de indicadores de sustentabilidad, respecto a uno de los recursos más importantes y escasos con el que se cuenta en el planeta.
