Análisis del turismo sostenible en República Dominicana desde la perspectiva de los expertos del sector turístico

Abstract

El desarrollo del turismo sostenible y la diversificación de productos turísticos se han convertido en los principales temas de preocupación en respuesta a los crecientes impactos negativos del desarrollo turístico, principalmente impactos ambientales adversos debido al desarrollo menos ecológico en muchos resorts de playa de gran escala; competitividad decreciente en el mercado turístico internacional debido a la falta de promoción de los productos turísticos aparte de los resorts de playa; y oportunidades limitadas para las comunidades locales porque la mayoría de resorts de playa son todo incluido, donde pocos turistas optan por salir fuera del complejo para una pequeña excursión (JICA, 2010). Por su relevancia, se presenta a continuación el estudio llevado a cabo y las aportaciones para un conocimiento más profundo del sector turístico dominicano.
