Turismo y desarrollo sostenible: conceptualización, evolución y principios

Abstract

El turismo se conforma como una actividad clave en muchos países, siendo motor del progreso socioeconómico de estos. Es por tanto, una actividad clave, la cual genera no solamente beneficios económicos en el país donde se inserta, sino que también provoca una serie de impactos de diversa índole. Es por tanto, que el turismo ha de llevarse a cabo bajo los principios de la sostenibilidad, no afectando mucho al medioambiente, buscando además una equidad social. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar una conceptualización y los principios sobre los que se rige tanto el desarrollo sostenible en general, como el turismo sostenible en particular.
