Un nuevo liderazgo para las empresas turísticas

Abstract

El turismo es un sector que posee unas características particulares que deben ser tenidas en cuenta por el directivo de la empresa turística que desee asumir su rol como líder de la organización. Entre esas características, que afectan indiscutiblemente a la experiencia interna de la empresa y a la forma de liderarla, destacan su naturaleza intangible e inmaterial de los productos que se comercializan, la importancia de la cooperación con los stakeholders, la competencia del sector que conlleva una lucha por la satisfacción y la lealtad del turista, la complejidad y carácter multidimensional y sistémico del sector, el impacto económico, social y medioambiental de la actividad turística, la relevancia creciente de los medios de comunicación y el comercio electrónico, etc. El líder de la empresa turística debe tener en cuenta todos estos aspectos externos, y además adoptar siete desafíos que son ineludibles en la dirección de las organizaciones turísticas en el mundo actual. Y de todos estos aspectos trata este paper.
