Porto do Rio de Janeiro: turismo e transformações urbanas em projeto de requalificação

Abstract

A cidade do Rio de Janeiro, enraizada por fatores histórico-sociais, tem originado reflexões a respeito de seu desenvolvimento enquanto cidade e sua importância no cenário do turismo no Brasil. Esta pesquisa buscou estabelecer reflexões teóricas acerca das transformações no espaço urbano e do processo de requalificação da região portuária do Rio de Janeiro, compreendendo a relação da atividade turística com suas dimensões econômicas e sociais. Concluiu-se que é papel do turismo articular com os stakeholders em questão, de forma integral e dinâmica, partindo de princípios éticos pautados no respeito à cultura, memória e identidade da população local.
