La Imagen Del Destino Turã Stico: Estudio En Profundidad Del Municipio De Murcia Como Destino Turã Stico

Abstract

La imagen del destino turístico es clave para que los turistas quieran visitar un lugar. Dicha imagen se corresponde con las percepciones que los visitantes tienen sobre el destino turístico y se configuran antes, durante y después de la visita turística. Dos son los aspectos clave de dicha imagen; la imagen cognitiva que se corresponde con los conocimientos acerca del destino y que incluye los recursos turísticos tangibles, ya sean hoteles, restaurantes, museos y otros recursos y, la imagen afectiva que se identifica con las emociones que genera el destino turístico. El propósito de este trabajo es analizar la imagen de Murcia como destino turístico a través de las entrevistas en profundidad realizadas a profesionales del sector. Los resultados indican que el municipio de Murcia carece de una imagen clara como destino turístico. Las conclusiones obtenidas señalan las principales fortalezas de las que dispone, sus debilidades y las propuestas de mejora para consolidar a esta ciudad como un destino turístico atractivo.
