Abstract

O turismo pode ser compreendido como um importante fenômeno socio-cultural nascido das relações entre o home e o meio ambiente. Dentro da segmentação turística um dos setores que mais se desenvolve é o segmento de Eventos. A análise dos eventos como um fator de divulgação favorece o fortalecimento da cultura intangível local que contribui para a preservação da identidade da cidade de Natal, no Rio Grande do Norte – Brasil e é a delimitação do objeto de estudo deste trabalho. Este estudo apresenta a importância de um bom planejamento de eventos e a inserção de cultura intangível como um recurso de preservação e divulgação da cultura local, apresentando-a para todos os participantes do evento e difundindo como identidade da cultura local. Para esta pesquisa foram utilizadas técnicas de análise de documentos e de leituras bibliografias pertinentes ao tema.
