Abstract

O presente artigo tem por finalidade diagnosticar a importância da valorização do Complexo Arquitetônico Porto das Barcas, enquanto atrativo histórico-cultural para a cidade de Parnaíba (Piauí-Brasil). Com embasamento teórico foram realizadas entrevistas com representantes do poder público local, no intuito de identificar argumentos necessários sobre a importância que este local tem para a cidade, ao abordar a atual situação do Complexo Porto das Barcas enquanto atrativo do patrimônio histórico-cultural tombado. Além disso, o intuito desta pesquisa é expor de forma que se compreenda como está sendo utilizados os espaços do complexo e o valor que está sendo atribuído, pois atualmente o Complexo Porto das Barcas, é considerado um dos atrativos turísticos da região, justamente por fazer parte do Centro Histórico da cidade.
