Abstract

Este trabalho centra-se no estudo e na análise do Turismo Religioso, enquanto fenómeno humano em franca expansão um pouco por todo o mundo. O termo Turismo Religioso começou a ser utilizado principalmente a partir de 1960, com a Conferência Mundial de Roma, sendo que já antes existiam práticas deste segmento turístico muito singulares como é o caso das viagens do egípcios e os gregos, em séculos bastante antigos, viajavam para, entre tantos motivos, homenagear santos. Numa segunda parte da investigação, caraterizou-se o Turismo Religioso no concelho de Lamego (Norte de Portugal Continental), enquanto estudo de caso prático, de forma a avaliar às potencialidades e os desafios do seu Turismo Religioso. Aqui este turismo tem fortes capacidades de ter maior procura, já que a sua oferta está bem organizada e valorizada.
