Abstract

El turismo es una actividad que emplea un número importante de mujeres, en México la participación de las mujeres en este sector está por encima de la que tienen en otras actividades. A pesar de los avances, los estereotipos de género suelen continuar condicionando los puestos, generando con ellos puestos feminizados. El suelo pegajoso es una metáfora usada para definir a las barreras socioculturales que mantienen a las mujeres sobre representadas en puestos con condiciones laborales precarias, muchas veces por estar considerados como puestos para mujeres. A través de una investigación cualitativa se revisa el papel de los estereotipos de género en los hoteles de 4 y 5 estrellas de Tijuana (México), con el objetivo de revisar las interacciones de éstos al momento de definir quién puede ocupar un puesto y quién no.
