Abstract

Cada destino possui uma marca própria, uma singularidade que o torna diferente dos outros e, por isso, torna-se um atrativo diferencial para muitos dos visitantes com motivações culturais. Todas as sociedades rurais ou urbanas possuem cultura. O turismo é essencialmente cultural, ou seja, a cultura faz parte das práticas turísticas. Existem diferentes tipologias para definir o turista cultural, mas todas elas podem ser encontradas ao mesmo tempo num lugar turístico (cidade, vila ou aldeia). As experiências dos turistas culturais podem ser profundas ou superficiais. Elas dependem essencialmente da natureza cultural do destino. O presente artigo aborda, através de exemplos, a relação entre a cultura, o turismo e o turista.
