Turismo De Passeio Pedestre/Pedestrianismo Como Promotor De Benefã Cios: O Caso Do Funchal (Madeira/Portugal)

Abstract

Este trabalho analisa a temática do pedestrianismo, o turismo de passeio pedestre e as formas de como esta atividade pode potencializar benefícios nos seus praticantes e nos territórios que a suportam. Deste modo, esta reflexão conta com duas partes principais. A componente mais teórica incide nas considerações e benefícios gerais do pedestrianismo como prática de lazer e de desporto. Já a componente prática está ligada ao caso particular das levadas do Funchal. Esta área possui percursos pedestres denominados por “levadas†, os quais estão bem consolidados e são bastante procurados por praticantes nacionais e estrangeiros. Esta prática é uma tendência atual, daí singularizar-se por questões abordadas no decorrer do artigo.
