Abstract

El turismo es un sector muy importante en la actualidad para el mundo en el aspecto económico, pues gracias a la derrama económica que deja éste, el desarrollo turístico va en incremento. En los últimos años el turismo viene adquiriendo una notoria importancia que se manifiesta no sólo en el aumento del número de personas que se desplazan con fines turísticos de un lugar a otro, sino también en la búsqueda permanente de nuevas modalidades turísticas y en la expansión de la oferta turística que se procesa a través de la formulación de nuevos productos. A su vez, se advierte un notable interés y preocupación por la preservación y la puesta en valor turístico de objetos y lugares patrimoniales; así, el carácter patrimonial de objetos y lugares es una de las características de los destinos turísticos valorizadas por la demanda actual. En este contexto, desde el ámbito académico, los estudios que abordan la temática de la valorización turística del patrimonio están desarrollándose en forma creciente.
