Abstract

Conceptualmente, el presente trabajo teórico provee una mirada crítica en los debates que se están llevando a cabo alrededor del concepto de autenticidad dentro de la investigación turística. En un sentido, tanto la globalización como la supremacía tecnológica son vistas como fuerzas ajenas al sistema turístico. Por ese motivo, se pierde el rastro al debate histórico dentro de las ciencias sociales sobre el tema del oculacentrismo, es decir nuestra dependencia de lo visual y de la autenticidad. Intentamos abrir camino por una nueva rama conceptual que discuta críticamente la relación entre el capitalismo tardío, el turismo y la autenticidad.
