    Como afirman Goy y Okazaki (2004) y Vallet, Berenguer y Gómez (2002), la consolidación de los estudios del comportamiento del consumidor como disciplina autónoma constituye un fenómeno relativamente reciente. Esta disciplina surge aproximadamente en los años sesenta, a partir del avance de las ciencias del comportamiento y de la necesidad de disponer de análisis científicos en esta materia. Y para que eso sucediera fueron imprescindibles las aportaciones procedentes de disciplinas diferentes, como la Economía, la Psicología y la Sociología, entre otras.
