Destinos Turisticos. Realidad Y Concepto

Abstract

El auge del turismo mundial ha propiciado el surgimiento de nuevas realidades y conceptos en el desarrollo de este fenómeno moderno. Dentro de esto se encuentran los destinos turísticos como lugares de acogida, contentivos de atractivos y servicios demandados por los visitantes. A pesar de su importancia, los estudios del turismo han estado orientados al tratamiento empresarial y otros aspectos directamente envueltos en la operación turística. Sólo en los últimos tiempos comienzan a considerar los territorios donde se asienta el turismo como un objeto que requiere de un enfoque específico. En este artículo se intenta ofrecer un concepto más abarcador de lo que constituye el destino turístico y sus implicaciones para el desarrollo territorial del turismo.
