Abstract

Este texto trata da abertura do Forte São Marcelo à visitação pública após obra de reforma e instalação de um centro de visitação sobre a história do próprio Forte, da cidade do Salvador (Bahia – Brasil) e do mar. Identifica no Forte São Marcelo um elemento de diferenciação para a oferta turística da cidade a partir da utilização do espaço patrimonial como um lugar de educação, lazer e entretenimento.
