Fuentes De Información Para El Estudio De La Fotografía En México Y El Estado De San Luis Potosí

Abstract

El trabajo presenta el estado que guarda el estudio de la fotografía en México y en San Luis Potosí; describe la importancia de la fotografía desde su introducción al país, en 1840, período en el que inicia la conformación de fondos documentales especializados y que son resguardados tanto por instituciones como por particulares. Por otro lado, señala la necesidad de contar con más fuentes de información que apoyen la investigación documental, ya que se dispone de muy pocos recursos para tal efecto; más adelante se hace referencia al Directorio de archivos, fototecas y centros de información especializados en fotografía, publicado por el Centro de la Imagen, cuyo contenido representa la única fuente de información para la identificación de instituciones que poseen fondos fotográficos en México. Sobre el tema de organización de fotografías, el artículo refiere las principales herramientas, modelos y sistemas de aplicación internacional. Finalmente, se mencionan los distintos ordenamientos de carácter jurídico a través de los cuales se reconocen, protegen y promueven los fondos fotográficos como parte de los bienes patrimoniales en México.
