Obtención De Biomasa A Partir De Cáscara De Café

Abstract

La biomasa o “proteína unicelular”, es el producto del crecimiento der bacterias, levaduras, algas y hongos por medio de procesos fermentativos en desechos orgánicos. La producción de café genera varios subproductos como la pulpa, mucílago y el pergamino o cascarilla. Como la pulpa y el mucílago son eliminados por medio del agua de lavado, el pergamino o cascarilla es un subproducto que ocupa gran volumen y es una fuente importante de materia orgánica, por lo que es muy atractivo como sustrato para la producción de biomasa.
