El retorno de la educación en México en 2010

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo calcular el retorno de la educación en México para el año 2010 y el impacto del género, la condición urbano-rural y la rama de la actividad económica en dicho indicador. Por retornos de la educación se entenderá el incremento en las rentas individuales a consecuencia de un incremento unitario en la escolaridad. El instrumento utilizado para ello es una adaptación de la ecuación de Mincer. Los resultados sugieren una influencia significativa del género en las rentas individuales, la existencia de rentas más elevadas para quienes habitan en la ciudad en comparación con quienes habitan en el campo y rendimientos diferenciados de acuerdo a la rama de la actividad en la que el individuo se desempeñe.
