México. Dilema Entre La Economía Y La Inseguridad

Abstract

La poca efectividad en el combate al crimen organizado en México tiene su origen en diversas causas, que van desde la incapacidad de conceptualizarla, hasta la negación del sentido económico sobre el que se soporta la actividad delictiva en nuestro país, lo cual impide hacer propuestas de política más efectivas que no se reduzcan únicamente a los enfrentamientos violentos con el ejército. El volumen de los flujos financieros que involucra el tráfico de armas, el secuestro, la pornografía infantil, el tráfico humano es de tal dimensión que llega a rebasar los niveles de financiamiento que el gobierno hace a actividades que cubren aspectos fundamentales en la vida de los ciudadanos mexicanos. En este artículo se hace una revisión por las principales teorías económicas que han estudiado las actividades delincuenciales y se brindan elementos de reflexión para que la ciudadanía exija nuevas políticas en el combate al crimen organizado.
