Abstract

Para comprender el arraigo histórico del Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) en las zonas rurales y marginales hay que ir más allá de los clásicos análisis de geografía electoral y cuestionar algunos estereotipos del voto priísta. Al hacerlo, se puede centrar la atención en factores tales como los grupos políticos, el trabajo político-electoral del partido y lo que motiva al elector a darle su voto al PRI, aspectos de gran relevancia para la permanencia del partido en el poder en zonas rurales.
