Regiones locales en el proceso globalizador, el caso de la región sureste de México

Abstract

México es una tierra de grandes contrastes entre la región sur y norte del país, en la primera predominan condiciones de pobreza y pobreza extrema, escasos servicios, infraestructura, ingresos y escolaridad, así como tasas superiores de mortalidad infantil y desnutrición. Las asimetrías se deben a su heterogeneidad de su estructura socio económica. Por otro lado, algunas zonas del sureste de México se encuentran inmersas en el proceso de la globalización económica a través de economías de enclave derivadas del petróleo y del turismo, no obstante, en la región sureste predomina el atraso.
