Abstract

La situación actual del sistema internacional indicaría que las opciones de política internacional se realizan sobre bases integradas. La integración regional, en este sentido, constituye un recurso de los estados-nación. Cuando se diseña un proyecto de integración regional se formulan, básicamente, tres preguntas claves: el qué integrar, el cómo integrar y el para qué de la integración. El lector encontrará las respuestas a estos interrogantes en exposiciones ampliamente desarrolladas por los autores. La integración se presenta, entonces, como la nueva base para la toma de decisiones sobre cómo lograr el desarrollo en un mundo globalizado.
