Percepciones del alumnado universitario sobre un buen docente en la educación del siglo XXI

Abstract

El paradigma de la educación superior está cambiando, y el rol del docente universitario también, por ello en este trabajo se busca conocer cuáles son las percepciones del alumnado universitario sobre un buen docente en la educación del siglo XXI en la Facultad de Economía de la Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil. La investigación realizada es descriptiva, con enfoque mixto, se aplicó una encuesta compuesta por 20 preguntas a un total de 304 estudiantes de los últimos tres ciclos de cuatro carreras, incluida titulación; con la que se recogió información sobre las actividades que debe realizar el docente. Los encuestados tuvieron la mejor predisposición para responderla al 100%, el tratamiento y análisis de los datos recolectados tuvo el mismo porcentaje. Se obtuvo información relevante sobre las características principales que debe tener un buen docente en la educación universitaria, como las características básicas que debe mejorar en su práctica diaria, y finalmente las actividades docentes con un bajo porcentaje de cumplimiento que puede generar problemas a largo plazo para que se trabaje en su fortalecimiento. Se concluye que un buen docente debe investigar para manejar cuestiones vinculadas con el conocimiento de la materia, la planificación, maneja buenas estrategias de enseñanza; busca soluciones a las dificultades pedagógicos que se le presente; y también debe ser humano, motivar, y comprometerse con sus estudiantes.
