Impacto de la lectura en la formación académica del bibliotecólogo. Caso Universidad Técnica de Manabí, periodo 2019

Abstract

El hábito lector por parte de los estudiantes universitarios ha ido en aumento, ya que gracias a las herramientas tecnológicas con las que cuenta, buscar información es mucho más fácil. Dentro de este contexto, la bibliotecología debe renovar su función social y uno de los aspectos fundamentales es la problemática de la lectura, por lo que es indispensable abrir y explorar las teorías y métodos, en los que se basa el discurso y la práctica de la bibliotecología. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar el impacto que tiene la lectura en la formación del bibliotecólogo, para lo cual se tomó como población a los 712 estudiantes de la carrera, modalidad presencial y tomando como muestra aleatoria intencional a 60 estudiantes de 5to nivel de carrera. Fue una investigación de campo, cuya metodología fue desarrollada bajo el enfoque cuali- cuantitativo, descriptivo, y se realizó en la Universidad Técnica de Manabí, Facultad de Ciencias Humanísticas y Sociales, Carrera de Bibliotecología y Ciencias de la Información. Para evaluar el impacto se desarrolló el diseño no experimental, aplicando la encuesta a los involucrados. El instrumento que se utilizó fue la guía de encuesta.
