Factores que determinan el número de hijos que procrean las mujeres en su periodo fértil en Ecuador

Abstract

El objetivo de este estudio es evidenciar los factores que determinan el número de hijos que procrean las mujeres en su periodo fértil. Para ello se estimó un modelo de regresión lineal múltiple con variables explicativas categóricas utilizando los datos de la encuesta de condiciones de vida ECV_2018 para buscar la relación entre estas y el número de hijos que tienen las mujeres en su periodo fértil. La principal conclusión de este trabajo es que el haber alcanzado un complicado nivel de vida, sobre todo en términos de pobreza y falta de educación, se puede asociar a un número de hijos más allá del promedio; mientras que el haber alcanzado condiciones de vida más favorables que el promedio poblacional NO se ha podido asociar estadísticamente a un número de hijos menor al promedio.
