El embarazo en la adolescencia y su perspectiva sociocultural

Abstract

Introducción: la adolescencia es considerada como una etapa de transición donde pueden aparecer una serie de enfermedades o condiciones que pueden llegar a poner en peligro la vida de los pacientes. El embarazo en la adolescencia es considerado como un importante problema de salud. Se conocen que durante los 9 meses de gestación las adolescentes sufren un sinnúmero de complicaciones que pueden poner en peligro tanto la vida de la mama como del futuro bebe. Se describen una serie de factores que pueden incidir, de manera considerable, en el aumento de la incidencia del embarazo en la adolescencia. Conocer los mismos deviene una herramienta esencial para el equipo de salud de la atención primaria con el objetivo de trazar estrategias para minimizar su incidencia.
