Emprendimientos de turismo rural en el Cantón Pastaza (Ecuador): iniciativas y oportunidades

Abstract

El Ecuador cuenta con un Plan Estratégico de Desarrollo de Turismo Sostenible hacia el año 2020, constituye la política nacional en esta área, bajo la cual se realizan acciones de desarrollo por los actores involucrados en el turismo, buscan potenciar un desarrollo sostenible, integral, con visión sectorial, para lograr un desarrollo en armonía con la naturaleza. El turismo rural comenzó a configurarse con mayor dinamismo en el Ecuador a partir de la segunda mitad de la década de los 90, nace como una alternativa económica de comunidades campesinas, indígenas y afro ecuatorianas para generar ingresos adicionales, defender y revalorizar los recursos naturales. En este contexto la presente investigación se fundamenta en la sistematización de la oferta de turismo rural del cantón Pastaza, se basa en un diagnóstico del territorio que identifica servicios, recursos y atractivos turísticos disponibles, para lo cual se identifica 6 emprendimientos comunitarios que ofertan servicios en torno al turismo rural, y un total de 30 atractivos turísticos dentro de las 14 parroquias que conforman el cantón, los cuales corresponden mayoritariamente a la jerarquía II; además se define el perfil de la demanda que visita esta zona mediante la aplicación de encuestas en sitios estratégicos de la ciudad.
