Brecha digital desde el estudio de las competencias digitales: caso Universidad Técnica de Manabí

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar los (SDM) Saberes Digitales Mínimos que deben poseer los estudiantes que cursan la educación superior para desempeñarse en sus tareas académica, además de estimar la brecha digital entre estudiantes cuyas edades están comprendidas en el rango de 17 a 30 años, versus estudiantes mayores a 30 años. La investigación se desarrolla a través del método explicativo. El diseño contempla dos etapas: En la primera se efectuó un análisis documental, para fundamentar con teorías el presente estudio. En la segunda fase se aplicó la ficha de esquemas de saberes digitales a partir de las coincidencias entre marcos de referencia propuesta por Ramirez y Casillas (2015), considerando únicamente los indicadores propuestos por la UNESCO, para identificar los SDM y establecer la brecha digital entre estudiantes que acuden a la Biblioteca Central de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí, separándolos por los rangos de edades señalados. El estudio permitió identificar los niveles de competencias digitales mínimas, establecer y analizar la brecha digital, para finalmente proponer alternativas que permitirán reducir esta brecha entre los denominados nativos y emigrantes digitales.
