La estadística y los desastres naturales en Cuba

Abstract

En la búsqueda de incrementar los conocimientos en los estudiantes de la carrera de Estudios Socioculturales de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales y Humanísticas en la Universidad Agraria de La Habana, a través de los aportes que les pueda proporcionar la asignatura de Estadística sobre los desastres naturales ocurridos a nivel mundial, con énfasis en el territorio cubano, se realizó un estudio investigativo en las diferentes comunidades de residencia de estos estudiantes para valorar la relación que se establece entre la Preparación para afrontar desastres naturales, y la Incidencia que los mismos pueden ocasionar. Comprobándose aquí la indiscutible dependencia entre las dos variables, en consonancia con que a mayor preparación ante los desastres, menor será su incidencia y viceversa. Por lo que a través de esta asignatura los estudiantes pueden comprender la necesidad de estar adecuadamente preparados ante cualquier situación de desastre natural que se pueda efectuar.
