Abstract

La elaboración de planes de ordenamiento territorial son instrumentos de mucha utilidad para los gobiernos locales. Es una perspectiva sistemática prospectiva, democrática y participativa, la cual orienta a una organización y planificación socioeconómica al integrar el medio físico y el espacio que conduce al análisis de un enfoque holístico y sistémico. Al definir los factores ambientales (clima, hidrografía, altitud, precipitación, aptitud del terreno), socioeconómicos (demografía, PEA, NBI, salud, educación) y limitantes del sistema territorial (alcantarillado, energía eléctrica) del cantón Valencia permitirá elaborar un plan de ordenamiento territorial del mismo para garantizar un nivel de vida adecuado de los habitantes Valencianos.
