El pensamiento de José Martí: respuesta a una época

Abstract

La personalidad del cubano José Martí Pérez es conocida de una forma u otra en el mundo de habla hispana, sin embargo, su pensamiento aún no es del todo conocido pues casi siempre en los artículos en que se reseña, se reitera su labor como escritor y periodista a pesar de que con solo 42 años hubo de desempeñarse como pedagogo, crítico de arte, político, etc. Es precisamente la faceta política, la que desempeñó en función de lo que consideraba su máximo deber: la independencia de su patria, labor no analizada totalmente y sí limitada o tergiversada, al extraerse citas de sus contextos originales.
