La ciencia y la tecnología y la economía popular y solidaria para el desarrollo económico y social. Un caso de política pública en Ecuador

Abstract

El presente trabajo sintetiza algunos resultados de la aplicación de la ciencia y la tecnología, así como de la economía popular y solidaria para que se haya mejorado el desarrollo económico y social en Ecuador a partir de la implementación de nuevas políticas públicas, las cuales se hallan insertas en la actual Constitución de la República de Ecuador aprobada en el año 2008 mediante plebiscito por los ecuatorianos. Como producto de las políticas públicas implementadas por el Gobierno ecuatoriano se tiene que, la pobreza estructural en el país se ha reducido en quince puntos porcentuales entre 2006 y 2014, es decir, de 37,6% a 22,49% respectivamente; el desempleo también describe una caída sistemática en el mismo período, del 10,7% en 2006 a 3,80% en 2014; otro indicador que reafirma los resultados positivos es el coeficiente de Gini, este en 2006 se ubicó en 0,54 mientras que en 2014 se situó en 0,4665.
