Organizaciones Sociales Productivas en el Mercado Global de Café: Caso Sociedad Cooperativa Agrícola Regional Tosepan Tataniske (SCARTT)

Abstract

La Sociedad Cooperativa Agrícola Regional Tosépan Tataniske. (SCARTT) es una organización indígena que agrupa hoy en día a más de 30,000 socios de la sierra nor-oriental de Puebla, representa un ejemplo donde la consolidación del capital social y agregación de valor que ha logrado cambios sustanciales y sustentables en la calidad de vida de sus agremiados. A partir de 1998 la producción de café orgánico este emprendimiento indígena exporta con los estándares de calidad más altos a los mercados de Estados Unidos, Europa y Japón, beneficiando a los productores el precio internacional de café orgánico. En el documento se analiza el papel de la agregación de valor y el capital social como una forma de generar desarrollo endógeno en la región de la sierra norte de Puebla, para ello se realizaron 12 entrevistas semiestructuradas con diferentes miembros de la sociedad cooperativa, en todos los niveles de producción; mismas que fueron analizadas en conjunción con fuentes documentales y gubernamentales, sobre la participación de esta entidad en el mercado global.
