Resiliencia De Manglares Como Componente Esencial Del Manejo Integrado De Zonas Costeras En El Refugio De Fauna San Miguel De Parada, Santiago De Cuba

Abstract

El Refugio de Fauna San Miguel de Parada constituye el principal relicto de manglar de Santiago de Cuba, ubicado al noroeste de la bahía santiaguera; alberga la mayor biodiversidad de la costa suroriental (126 especies) y está formada por 10 fitocenosis de manglar únicas de este ecosistema. El desarrollo socioeconómico en áreas aledañas ha incrementado los usos del manglar, siendo los más perjudiciales: la recepción de residuales industriales y domésticos, la explotación forestal y los asentamientos humanos. Esta situación requiere de acciones de manejo integrado por la alta confluencia de actores presentes. Se estudió la capacidad de recuperación del manglar, empleando como metodologías: la primera fase del ciclo de manejo integrado de zonas costeras y la resiliencia relativa de manglares, método novedoso en el manejo de estos ecosistemas.
